What is a Meal Plan?

A Meal Plan unlocks delicious meals, coffee, snacks, and more, at 10 locations across campus. Your Meal Plan includes Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars, conveniently loaded onto your 1Card. No need to carry additional cards or cash!

All students living on-campus are auto-enrolled in the Blazer All Access plan if a Meal Plan is not selected during registration. Access your student account in Banner at any time before the posted meal plan change deadline to select a different plan (based on your eligibility). The meal plan change deadline is the first Wednesday of the first official week of classes at midnight. The deadline is posted in the Meal Plan selection screen in Banner and on the 1Card website.

Students classified as a first-year student (regardless of credit hours) are automatically enrolled in the Blazer All-Access Meal Plan with a 1 year commitment. First-year students are eligible to upgrade to the Blazer All-Access Meal Plans with meal exchange. Upgrades must be made by the first Wednesday of the first official week of classes at midnight.

Students considered upperclassmen living in traditional or suite style dorms are eligible for the All Access, Blazer 10, or Blazer 8 Meal Plans. Students may upgrade their meal plans to include meal exchange.

Upperclassmen living in Centennial are eligible for All Access, Blazer 10, Blazer 8, or the Blazer Apartment Meal Plans.

All students living off-campus may purchase any Meal Plan of their choice; however, a Meal Plan is not required. Students living off-campus must have their Meal Plan paid in full, have enough financial aid available on their account to cover the cost of the Meal Plan, before the Meal Plan is active.

Swipes

Meal Swipes

Weekly swipe plans (Blazer 10 and Blazer 8) have a set number of meals per week; any meals not utilized at the end of that week are forfeited (reset is on Sundays).  For Blazer All Access, Blazer Apartment, and VSU 50, the unused meal swipes are forfeited at the end of each semester.

Dollars

Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars are like a gift card for food on campus! Dining Dollars may be used at any Valdosta State University Dining location. Visit our location page for location information, including dining hall menus and hours of operation. Dining Dollars will rollover from fall to spring semester, but will not roll over from spring to summer semester or summer to fall semester.

Exchange

Meal Exchange

Meal Swipes give you access to our dining hall, Palms Dining Hall. Unused meal swipes are forfeited at the end of each semester for the Blazer Apartment and VSU 50 meal plans. Unused meal swipes are forfeited at the end of each week for the Blazer All-Access,  Blazer 10, and Blazer 8 meal plans.

Guest Meals

Guest Meals

If your Meal Plan includes Guest Meals, you can treat a family member, friend, or professor to a meal at Palms Dining Hall! Guest Meals are not eligible for Meal Exchange.
